Why do we need proper assessment of noise and as it's required for some machine to function?

Considering only the audible noise, low-pass filtering is a good starting point. More advanced spectral noise removal methods and adaptive filters can be added to this basic block.

Regarding the vibration, This highly depends on the sensor being applied.
