How to draw 2d graph with the color gradient show the magnitude at a each location?

Hi everybody,

sbased on the value of X and Y of each point in Figure 2. Now, I would like to draw 2D graph with the color of these line changes in the color gradient based on the magnitue (value of Z).

Does anyone know any software or any way to draw them?

Please let me know if you have any idea!

Hi, the scatter function in MATLAB produces such kind of plots:

For example,

scatter(x,y,[],z)

plots y as a function of x with color defined in z.
