Yes, but those systems were discontinued. There was a free download software, that can not be accessed now.

This sensewear-8.1.0.22-20140915.exe download does not complete the operation and reports an error. I tried several times, to no avail.

Filipe M. S. Melo There is a typo on the website, try intalling the 7.0 file which actually contains v8.1 named sensewear-8.1.0.22-20140915.exe
Nara da Silva Dias I see that the main issue is that the hyperlink to install MS visual 2008 is no longer a valid url. I found a workaround and got it to work eventually by following these steps:
1. Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=29 and install the "vcredist_x86.exe file by clicking the download button and selecting that file.
2. Install vcredist_x86.exe which is the visual package required for Sensewear.
3. Go to "sensewear-8.1.0.22-20140915.exe", right-click and go to properties > compatability tab and change the compatability mode to Windows XP(Service pack 3), click apply.
4. Try running the installation file again.
Please let me know this works for you and please recommend this answer so that others can see it.

Ben Maylor Just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing this troubleshooting! The timing of this was impeccable as I am scrambling to use these armbands for the first time for a participant tomorrow and had the same error and your solution worked!
Amy A Kirkham No problem, I'm glad to hear it worked for you and hopefully it will benefit many others who come across this question :) I personally have never used this particular software (Only Omgui, ActivPAL and GENEActiv) but just have experience with getting older bits of software to work on newer PC's!

Does anyone on this post know what it means when the Sensewear arm band starts buzzing while being worn? I have one on a participant for the first time and she called to say that is happening.
Hi Amy, the only thing I can find is this in the manual:
" When there is less than 24 hours of battery life remaining, the armband will produce a subtle vibration and sound to alert the user. When the battery is too low to operate, the alert will become more urgent, but only last for a few seconds. "
Other than that I can't help I'm afraid.
Hi Amy, I've been using Sensewear in my study. They beep all the time and we usually tell participants that this is how they know it is on and working.

Hi, We have difficulties with the software. When we try to retrieve data, we get a error message with following messange: "The armband is from a different product family and cannot be used with this SenseWear product". Do you know if there are other softwares attached to the SenseWear armbands?
Ben Maylor , as a BodyMedia alumni, your tip on the compatibility mode to get the install to finish helped me get going again! My team developed the Sensewear software, and I wrote the EE & sleep algorithms. I have a copy of the released software SenseWear-8.1.1.23-20141008-EE52I if someone wants to host it. I do not have any spare hardware keys.
