You can go to file option in the google earth pro where you will find "save as" option for the image which you can download from very low (1024x768) to high (4800x2782) resolution image. You can apply a historical imagery toolbar while downloading the image and also zoom the image according to your requirement.
But the resolution of the historical images directly depends on the when was the historical image was taken, location (generally images of the urban regions are much clear than images of rural areas) and its clarity/resolution.
google earth engine provides a lot of resources for historical Google Earth images.
