I need to download historical orthophotos from Google Earth in a systematic way. Does anyone know how to do it? So far we have managed to download the latest dates, but we would like to download images before 2017.
I don't know if this is your case but if you need historical ortophotos from your area, you can get some here: http://pnoa.ign.es/pnoa-historico. There are ortophotos taken by the American flights A (1945-46) and B (1956-57), Interministerial (1973-86) and other more recent flights.
You can also find a comparator here: http://www.ign.es/web/comparador_pnoa/index.html
I've checked them and you can find images from Extremadura (I don't know if this is what you need).
Thank you very much your recommendation, but I need ortophotos from other countries such as England, Germany or Bulgary and PNOA is not useful to this purpouse. However, thank you very much for your help.
I understand. You could search for historical ortophotos in the public cartography services equivalent to the Spanish IGN. Maybe they have available historical ortos such as the case of the IGN.
Fermín Alcasena thank you very much for your recomendation, but I need images from Germany and Bulgary. If you know any server that provides these images it would be useful. Thank you!
Alexandre Escolà, thank you very much!! The european data portal has a lot of information and is interesting, not only for cartography, but also for sociological and socio-geographical data. Thank you!!
In the Google Earth software you will find a button "Show Historical imagery" (with small clock icon) in the main menu toolbar, which can provide you imageries way back upto 2000.
@Mohammed Adil Aman, this tool is very useful, but it is necessary to locate the study area and then download like a map. I would like to download the images in a systematic way, using the coordinates. We have managed to implement an algorithm in R that allows us to download the most recent images through Google Earth, but not the historical ones.
I repeat for a colleague Fermin Alcasena. You can use SAS Planet 2018 to download high resolution images from anywhere on planet Earth. This software is possible to upload images for the any selected period in the past if they are on the server.
The Elshayal smart GIS software provides a methodology to extract images (including historical images) from Google Earth. Download the setup (including the procedures) from this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2qR4wxKKE_VUmR6V2hYRHRqb2c/view?usp=sharing
