I have procured pepsin pack mentioning activity 1:3000 ? What does this mean? How do we calculate how much of enzyme for 1 gram of substrate is required for digestion?
It states that one part of pepsin will digests 3000 parts of a protein i.e. casien, the milk protein. In simple terms one mg of pepsin will digest 3000 mg of casien.

I wanted to know
If Given is - Activity 3000 FCC units/mg for Pepsin (1:3000)
& 1 mg dissolved in 1 ml buffer (stock)
Means 1ml contains 3000units
1000ul contains 3000unit
1 up contains 3 units
3 units r present in 1ul
200 units will be in 1/3x 200= 66.6ul
Therefore 66.6ul of enzyme solution is required to digest 100 mg (12mg protein) of flour (known 100gm contains 12grm protein).
So m I doing it right way???
