Currently I am doing numerical analysis of pulse tube cryocooler and dealing with various parameters keeping others constant. I am saving data of each set in my computer date wise. I want to know any efficient method which enables effective data management. It could provide me effective data retrieving when needed.

Why don't you try using a version control system of your data and programs. Try subversion to start with.
