If you find the plasma membrane protein can bind to virus attachment proteins, how do you know this protein in related to virus attachment stage or virus entry stage?
As I know, we can perform virus attachment assay and virus entry assay using the temperature shift to detect virus entry at 37 °C rather than 4 °C . However, what is the detail mechanisms to dissect their role? The protein conformational change? (when virus protein and host protein binding)
