Thank you for your reply. Typically, collagen powder is dissolved in acid solution as the research shared by you. Is very difficult found collagen dissolution directly in buffer solution, therefore, I think to follow this solution.

I would suggest to first solubilize the collagen source material by using acidic buffer, rather than just the acid.

I would suggest keeping the pH within 3.0–3.8 to solubilize raw collagen.

Maybe you can consider to obtain a dispersion (or colloidal solution) of collagen using citrate buffer (pH ~3.4).

The pKa of acetic acid is 4.75, from what we can only expect fair pH buffering effect between approx. 3.75 to 5.75. This pH range is less acidic than the above suggested pH (~3.4).
