We trying to find ways to discover novel gene or to identify the functions of novel gene that we have found. Gene (X) e.g., is gene decoded by eukaryotic translation termination factor 1 (eRF1). eRF1 is a protein, which recognizes all three stop codons (UAA, UAG, and UGA) and disassociate the ribosomal subunits for ending the translation process. However, the target gene (X) selectively recognized UAA stop codon only. Why UAA only? That is our target via identify the function.
The purpose from the query based on; regulated gene expression is mediated by the combinatorial interactions of multiple cis-elements in the gene’s promoter. This specific binding of transcriptional factors to the cognate cis-elements constitute a crucial step in transcription initiation and, in turn, on the spatial and temporal expression of genes.
Our case concerning to the translation termination, because of the target gene is decoded by eRF1.
So, is there any possibility to discover/ or identify some motifs at the 3'UTR downstream the stop codon instead of the upstream normal case.
Are theses elements important for the translation termination?
