I am a student new to research area, and i am filling my article summary table. Currently I have a conference paper that i am trying to find the research methodology the author used to do his research. The author did not make surveys, questionnaires or interviews, he just based his paper upon other reports and results from other articles. So the closest i can think of this methodology is that its either a library research or an internet research but I am not sure which of them as the difference between them not clear to me. So please help me regarding this and if you think that his methodology is neither of the two also give your thoughts.

There are two different types of researches,one is based on the primary data and other is based on secondary data. When research is based on primary data, researcher collect data using different methodologies as you mentioned. However, secondary research is based on published reports or data collected by other researchers.From your
example it seems that the resear h is based on secondary data. This data can be accessed through library books or internet.
Ya offcourse there is a lot of difference between these two library n internet research.
Both have it's own negative n positive factors.
But library research is more authentic n comfortable because just few years ago if check, researchers only have library n utilized it very well n conducted millions of useful research projects.
In my opinion, it is not about internet versus library research. As Mr. Shirshendu Roy already said it is about secondary data. It is about critical interpretation, mainly specific to discourse analysis. In this situation, I will go with classical terms: scientific literature interpretation, text interpretation, discourse analysis and so on. If your sources, of course, are not doing research with the help of data mining, theme networking or other specific methodologies for gathering and preparing data.
