Hi, how do i determine what surfactants/additivies will adsorb on to a pigment surface? Pigments such as fluorescent phosphors (rare-earth) and micron sized Alumina powder? How do i determine the surface charge of a pigment?

Use aluminum carboxylates (for aluminum oxide) and rare earth carboxylates. They can be obtained from any fat.
I agree with Dr. Yuri and I suggested using SDS and Trirton X100 ....
to change the surface tension and increasing the removing of pigments...
Pigments are dispersed in hydrocarbon solvents, while D and Triton do not dissolve in them. They dissolve in water.
The surfactant materials are having polar and non polar parts so, they can be interaction with pigmants and water.

The polar and nonpolar part is in the surfactant molecule. The surfactant powder has no polar and nonpolar part. The material is transported by bags, wagons and there is no polar and nonpolar part.
