Hi Im doing an analysis on total head developed by a pumping station that has 6 pumps. We have measurement reading for pressure on delivery side, but unfortunately volume flow rate is measured at the total header where the all the delivery of the 6 pumps connected.
I applied Bernoulli between the free surface and the pump suction to find the suction pressure head. Since I don't know the velocity to each pump, I divided the volume flow rate equally and then determined the velocity.
Hence I used this velocity and applied Bernoulli between the free surface in the sump and one of the pump's suction.
Am I correct in my computation?
I think your approach is correct.
(For the nett positive suction head to check the margin to cavitation do not forget the vapour pressure)
