FTIR gives you clues regarding the functional groups, but still not so comprehensive regarding the exact matter I guess. Further, quantification is not possible. Any other methods to identify and quantify the same?
In my opinion, use the GC-MASS after drying the model and evaporating water from it.
Add to FTIR .
To the best of my knowledge, the LC willgive us same information about organic

The ash remain after gasification contains a number of compounds(mainly oxides I guess). The relative amount of these compounds decides the value of Bed Agglomeration Index(BAI) and Alkali Index(AI).

Gasification reduces volume of sludge considerably but still the ash and product gas may contain the heavy metals and still it is as dangerous as direct use as fertilizer or landfill.
