How to determine item number for getting sample size base on item ratio ?

Dear

If anyone wants to get sample size on the basis of item ratio then she or he takes number of items from pilot study questionnaire or main study questionnaire for sample size calculation because after EFA some items were eliminated as low factor loading so main study questionnaire has some less items than pilot study questionnaire.
