I want to identify gene duplication events of specific genes between particular plant species. I also want to calculate the Ka and Ks value between the duplicated genes. It would be a great help if someone can tell me the way and also briefly explain the principles of determining duplicated genes and Ka and Ks values.

Use dnaSP software. You can also calculate these two values using PAL2NAL webtools and CODEML program of PAML. You will find different tutorials online about these tools.
You can calculate gene duplication events between two plant species by using TBtool with the required data available.
Zahid Hussain , thank you for your answer. I am already aware of TBtool software. But I actually don't know how the Ka Ks calculation works. I mean, I don't know which files to use as input. It would be much appreciated if you could brief me in using the tool for Ka Ks calculation.
