Time-resolved ESR. But you will need a box car and a laser.

All transient, short-lived species, can be detected by using time resolving optical techniques. But I am not sure if there is any direct method that can specify the nature of the transient species (radical, ions or excited species), unless you combine the analysis with other conventional methods of analysis of products of irradiation.
