Is it possible to use remote sensing visible and thermal infrared image combined with surface modeling for estimating soil water holding capacity?

Hi,

As far as I know, images from SMAP or SMOS could be of good use. Some also use ASCAT. However, you would need some downscaling or upscaling depending on your objective and dimension of interest.
