i was going through a research paper, in that paper researcher has used the C3D4R mesh element. i was trying to replicate that model. i find the tetrahedral element with 4 nodes , but i unable to find the option of reduced integration in tetrahedral element, in hexagonal element type i can see the option of reduced integration element but unable to see this option in tetrahedral case, i am using abaqus 2019 . is this type of element available in abaqus 2019?
The C3D4 is a tetrehedron with 4 nodes and 1 integration point. There is no reduced version of it (you can't have less than 1 integration point). In general, you should avoid the C3D4 unless you have a very large amount of elements covering the area of interest. It is too stiff and gives poor accuracy. Use 2nd order tetrahedra instead!
