During any simulation of complexes using GROMACS utilizing all the 12 cores and around 90% of GPU, my pc GPU temperature reaches up to 85 degree celcius. Is there any way to decrease the utilization of CPU cores amd GPU so that the temperature doesn't get over 80 degree celcius?
What you experience is a HPC (high performance computing) application trying to get the most out of your hardware, as this is what it was designed for and what you normally want in the MD world. However, there are ways to reduce the number of used CPU cores and hence, the overall utilization of your computer.
It might depend on how you run gromacs (mdrun) but have a look at the -nt flag for now ;)
