when you do your parameterization, you should define your electrodes as a unit using the RefEval Window function in SDE.

In my current device, I have 4 layers in my source and drain electrodes, and 2 layers in my gate. each layer is 1nm thick and the layers start from the top (Ymax) of my device. In the syntax below, El means electrode and the numbers refer to the layers. So EL1 is first layer on the electrode. The SD stands for Source and Drain, while the G stands for Gate. So here are my definitions:

(define El3_SD (+ Ymax 0.003))

(define El4_SD (+ Ymax 0.004))

Now I have my 3 layers defined as one unit. and I can place them in my structure files as parameters like this:
