I submitted a manuscript to a well reputed journal on November. I chose this journal according to some points one of them was responding with first decision within 64 days.
i contacted the editorial board several times and each time they would respond the same that they will send a reminder to the editor and they will notify me when there is a progress. I need a quick response as any delay will affect the manuscript information because it is a systematic review.
How can I deal with this situation?
If you have second journal that you can submit to, write to first one and tell them you are withdrawing your manuscript from consideration due to the unacceptable delays that you have experienced there.
If a journal does not respond after several emails regarding a late first decision (64 days):
1. Follow Up Again: Send a polite follow-up email reiterating your concern and requesting an update.
2. Contact Editorial Office: Try reaching out to the journal’s editorial office via phone or other contact methods.
3. Seek Guidance: Consider seeking advice from colleagues or mentors on how to proceed.
4. Consider Withdrawal: If necessary, consider withdrawing your submission and submitting to another journal.
5. Review Journal Policies: Check the journal’s policies regarding response times and escalation procedures.

Hadeel Mohammed Abbood Normally publisher dont have control on Journal Review Process but you can put them in CC when emailing editor in chief.
