I have data in an Excel spreadsheet that is in terms of frequency and amplitude. I want to convert this into time and amplitude using an inverse Fourier transform. What script could I use to import this data and perform the inverse Fourier transform?

SIr, I have equally spaced applied frequency so should I use ifft on both or only on amplitude?

I think the FFT spectrum you have in your excel spreadsheet are real. FFT sequences are supposed to be complex numbers because they contain both amplitude and phase information. If the FFT spectrum you have looks symmetric (for example something like: [ 1 2 3 4 3 2 1] ), then this means your time domain signal is indeed real. You can directly acheive the real time domain signal by passing "symmetric" argument in MATLAB as following:
ifft(x, 'symmetric')
