Hi everyone Please I have list of patients, each with their result of lab test ( fasting blood sugar FBS, Creatinie, Uric acid ...etc) for example : Someone have the result of FBS (110 mg/dl), I want to convert or transform this value into (Normal or abnormal) into new column according to Normal value of FBS which is (80-120mg/dl), So is there any way to make that because I searched over web but no result.
Why SPSS? its a simple 'IF' statement (function) that can be applied easily in MS-excel.
Doing it in SPSS means you have to build a macro or something equivalent of a IF function. Why do you want to complicate it?
I also recommend you to use Microsoft Excel as you will only need the "IF" function: =IF(condition_to_assess;result_if_yes;result_if_no). They can also be concatenated.
For example: =IF(FBScell120;"abnormal";"normal"))
search the web for "Kolmogorov–Smirnov" test. It shows the normality of the data in SPSS software and can be mentioned as an statistical method in scientific articles.
