I have problem with huge population of Thrips in greenhouse. Application of insecticide was already conducted continuously. I try to use blue sticky-trap method to solve this problem. Is blue the most attractive color for Thrips? or is there any references that explain other color to attract thrips? or any other method to control thrips population in greenhouse?

there are certain methods to control thrips in greenhouse the most use and common is chemical control which depend on the grown crop in house. the used compounds to manage thrips are:
1- untraditional compounds.
abamectin, thiamethoxam, imidacloprid, thiacloprid, azadirachtin, pottasium soap (liquid ), Acetamiprid, Novaluron (IGR), Pymetrozine (anti feedent), Beauveria bassiana (fungi)
2- traditional compounds.
chloropyrifos, oxamyl (systemic nematicides), lambada cyhalothrin, deltamethrin, cypermethrin, malathion (if register in your country) .
3 - reducing moisture as you can.
4- yellow sticky traps is the best trap kind, follow with blue one.

The applications of imidacloprid, abamectin, and cypermethrin were already conducted and population of Thrips reduced within a short time and again increased not long after.
Ranamukhaarachchi and Wickramarachchi (2007) said that the colors which strongly reflect in blue and UV regions caught more thrips compared to
the other colors in tomato. Based on my experiment, yellow was good for whitefly and dipteran insect, but i have no idea with thrips.

try to use Azadirachtin which very effective against sucking pests.
azadirachtin a natural products has certain actions (anti feedant, repellent, anti molting, damage the insect muscles.........), as well as the PHI is only 8 hrs. you can use it safely and can mix it with abamectin by the half dose of both (i was use this mix against white fly and was effective).you also can repeat usage of azadirachtin 3 or 4 times, and as i said try to reduce humidity it will be useful

Candra, The best and single method is not exist for controlling of trips. You can use from Blue Trap+ Imidacloprid or pymetrozin or Deltametrin. If you want excellent results, i recommended that you mix above insecticides as 0.25 ml/L.
Other than spraying chemicals, you can try with different predatory mites and bugs. Here in Australia, many growers use Typhlodromips montdorensis, Neoseiulus cucumeris, Hypoaspis miles and Orius armatus. I worked on western flower thrips and found that spray spinosyn product (i used spinosad) followed by combined release of natural enemies can provide better management of WFT

A greenhouse provides a perfect environment for the thrips, with no predators or pathogens. You have to re-establish the balance using a mixture of insect predators and parasites/pathogens. Insecticides alone cannot restore the systems balance.
Have you tried any entomopathogenic fungi or nematodes ?
A very easy and cheep way for implementing biological control: you should sweep with a sweeping net a stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) stand and the captured mixture of predators you can release against the phytophagous thrips. This method worked in green pepper in a green house in Hungary. You can find another weed stands rich in predators or parasites.
We have used managed pollinator vectored Beauvaria against thrips populations in greenhouse crops. Our technology works well. Please consult papers by L. Shipp, J-P Kapongo, M. Al-Mazra'awi and P. Thrips can be controlled by spraying the crop with Azadiractin 0.03 % or Malathion 0.03%, Monochrotophos 0.3%, or 0.03 % Phosphamidon. In addition a parasitoid Thripocentus maculatus can also solve the problem of Thrips as eco-friendly method.
One major problem with thrips is that they quickly develop resistance to insecticides. In fact, they have developed resistance to most of the carbamates, pyrethroids and organophosphates that have been on the market for a long time. I propose you try the newer insecticides (e.g. spinosad, spirotetranat and thiamethoxam). They must be part of an insecticide rotation scheme, which must also be part of an integrated pest management system.
