I want to synthesize metal oxide nanoparticles via co-precipitation method and I want keep the pH constant during the reaction. If anyone suggest an idea.
The first stage of oxide formation is the replacement of the ligands of the inner sphere with water with the possibility of its dissociation: MeLn + H2O = MeL(n-1)H2O + L. Then polymerization and, often, deprotonation occurs according to the scheme Me-OH -Me = Me - O - Me + H+. Acidification occurs and the pH decreases. The hydrolysis process requires the possibility of deprotonation of the H2O ligand. Therefore, the medium in suspension must be neutral. You can add acid or alkali as the pH of the solution changes.
