In WSN the data recorded by sensors is highly correlated in spatial and temporal domain. What are some good techniques which use this property to compress signal and send it to sink efficiently.
Aggregation and clustering techniques are proven techniques and may be taken in to consideration.

It is so that the conventional data compression algorithms are customized for the WSN environment with power limited systems.
However, the basic concepts behind the compression is the same:
These are the lossy and the lossless methods.
The lossless compression is based on variable length coding.
The lossy compression is based on prediction and residual. The residual itself is transform coded and nonlinear quantized.
