I have modelled a building on pile and took two cases one with acceleration time history as input motion with one joint soil spring and another after ground response analysis displacement time history at the end of 2 joint API soil spring. later case shows 15 times response than former. although later case is more realistic what could be possible reasons for such a differencee.
How could you correlate the acceleration - time history and the displacement - time history ?
hi..i feel in the first case instead of performing soil structure interaction using joint soil spring you could have performed analysis by using any continuum failure theory. The response of soil to the load is need to predict using nonlinear failure theory i.e. any elasto - plastic model ..Drucker - Prager model, soil softening model , Mohr - Coulomb model etc..i feel if analysis has performed using these models for soils than the response going to be different..lot of literature is available related to soil models..ok all the best..
