I have a dataset containing [length of time in DAYS] and [name of drug]. The days go from 1 to 42, and there are about 25 drugs. The majority of the data is for 3 days or less. The dataset is discontinuous above 16 days, tends to peak at the multiples of 7 above 7 days even though there are number of datapoints for other days as well, up to 30 days. I am interested in the differences between 2 drugs with feature A (N=574) AND 2 drugs with feature B (N+117) AND the entire group (N=2075) versus DAYS. The assumption is that there is a difference in the distribution of DAYS [between the drugs with feature A and B – a 2-way comparison] and/or [between these two and the entire group (or the group without these 2) – a 3-way comparison]. What would be the recommended statistical analysis? What comparisons can be made?
Do a picture of you data (you do not need to use it later) and then see what you want to do.
Your sample size is big so it is safe to do MANOVA. There are a lot of other assumptions that must also be met.
If you first want to reduce your data, an exploratory factor analysis EFA can be done if you think it is okay for your drugs. If EFA is done then it is more natural to follow up with regression analyses.
