I've done a code using C for a rectangular space using Poisson's equation and Dirichlet boundary condition and used the Finite Element Method. I would like to know how to do this for an elliptic. I've attached a text file of the code I used. Thank you for your help.

I suppose that as for the Poisson's equation this document fits well(https://www.code-aster.org/V2/UPLOAD/DOC/Formations/07-thermics.pdf ) So there are few ways to go. The finite element method can be formulated from the weighted residual galerkine method where you need to define the residual R=your PDE equation=0. The solution (trial function) in finite elements is expressed using the interpolation (shape) functions. The investigated constants (generalised coordinates) in the trial function are also function of the nodal unknowns. you have to solve integral(wi*R*dv)=0 for each constant where wi is a weight function. This is for one element and then you have to generalize for all the mesh elements.
