I have to coat silver nps with triethylamine. However, the nps I need to coat are pre-produced, which prevents me from using the "triethylamine as stabilizer" route.
How can I make the triethylamine bond to silver nps? Will this happen spontaneously by just mixing them?

Probably if you convert triethylamine to triethylamonium salt by adding an acid such as HCl, you might be able to coat your Ag NPs with triethylamonium cation. Since Ag NPs have negative surface charges this coating is expected to take place.

Hello mister Kooti! I did as you recommended, and I think it worked. I am just having a bit of a hard time to characterize de salt. Do you know what quaternary ammonium salt do I form by reacting the HCl with triethylamine?
