I want to coat chitosan on the ZnONP surface to make Chitosan coated ZnONPs. I have tried direct in-situ method for the same where Zinc nitrate and KOH is used as precursor and 5mL of 0.1% Chitosan solution (in 1% Acetic acid) is added to the above mixture at 85 C . I have tried adding chitosan before addition of reducing agent and also after addition of reducing agent. But particles size that im getting is too large in DLS ~ 800-1000 nm Z-Avg. diameter.
Is their any simple way to coat the chitosan on ZnONP surface and have well dispersed particles as well?

Frank T. Edelmann thank you. I have tried that protocol but, it gave very flaky precipitate and powder also. And 1g of chitosan increases the viscosity to the extent that down streaming becomes difficult. Thing is uniform coating under high pH is an issue i am facing. If you can guide me for the same anything.
