I am not sure because I have never worked with ionic liquids but I think that the critical electrode is reference one since you should select one that works in this kind of solutions. On the other hand you may select a cathode with good Co adherence and an anode with high corrosion resistance, such as a DSA, as your ionic liquid is based on chlorides.
