I want to study the physiological alterations induced by pyrethroid pesticide on microalgae.I have studied different research articles on the physiological alterations induced by pesticide on micro algae. In each paper the micro algae is exposed to different concentration range of pesticide such as 1, 5,10,15,20, 25 mg/l or 2.4, 4.8. 9.6. 19.2 , 38.4 g/l. I am not very clear on what basis these concentrations are chosen.I will be grateful if anyone can answer my query.If possible also provide me necessary reference related to my question.
this is for toxicity test it like an relation between them the first one is 1x5 and to reach 25 and the other one is 1x2.
for example you can you 2,4,8,16,32
or depend on the reference you need to work with,

There are OECD Guidelines for Toxicity Testing with algae as well. They are for a regulatory purpose but provide, at least, a frame for your experiments with a small amount of background informations.

Thank you Mr.Daniel Stengel for your answer.I have gone through the OECD guidelines and according to it we need to do a preliminary range finding experiment for choosing the concentrations for algal toxicity test.But to start the range finding experiment what maximum and minimum values of concentration I should choose?
