My data- set has 5 variables. One of the variables is the group . There are 10 different groups. How to check the relationships between the groups based on the other 4 variables.
I want to check which groups are most similar to each other and which are very different?
Also how do I plot the hierarchical nature and the spatial nature of these relationships between groups.
Which multivariate technique shall I choose ? I am using R .

A General Linear Model would be ok. if you are using the SPSS, go to analyse-General Linear Model-Univariate or multivariate depending on what you want. if you data was properly imputed, the post hoc can compare the groups for difference and similarity, and the profile plot may be very useful
Principal component analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) are both suitable for what you intend to do. In R-studio, the prcomp package can be used for PCA (https://www.rdocumentation.org/packages/stats/versions/3.6.2/topics/prcomp)and the MDA package for LDA (https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/mda/mda.pdf).
