How we can check mesh convergence in models with two or more parts which are assembled? we should change size of elements of all parts in every step (for checking mesh convergence) synchronously or only in one part?

Additionally, we have different cases to change in one part like elements in length,width or thickness direction. they should be changed all together or separately?

for example, in attached image I have a tubular adhesively single lap joint consist of two tubes and adhesive layer (3 parts). how to check mesh convergence in it?
