I am on the NX Nastran side of things, but I did ask a couple of colleagues on the NX side. For versions of NX before 12.0, it appears that you will need to enter text (there is a window for that in NX - see attached Word file, Part 1B) to hand-edit the NX Nastran input deck. What you need in terms of GUI has been added in Version 12.0 (again see attached Word file, Part 2), I also understand that "you can use Response Dynamics in NX to create a "Random Event" using "modal results from a Nastran 103RS Solution" (also in the Word file, Part 1A). All info on the Word file is as I received it. I hope this helps.
Thank you for going through all the trouble Erdal. I am currently working with NX 10 and this is what i have done:
I chose SOL 103 Real Eigen values for my solution with my solution process as Laminate dynamics. I then selected my constraints and then created a dynamic solution from laminate option. I have tried to create a random event from there (menu->insert->lainate->Dynamics simulation -> Random event).
This is where i got struck. I have input PSD values and slopes of random curve with me according to MIL standards but im unable to create a .afu file with them. Can you please let me know how to make a .afu file if it is not too much trouble?
I have completed the modal analysis before going through the above procedure. I want to extract response at a particular point of my structure under the given random environment of 15Grms.
I did go through the above doc, but unable to create a random event that way. Can you please elaborate. I am very new to NX and trying to get better
If you had a problem saving the .afu file, try a directory other than where NX writes, such as D:. Other than that, I am waiting for replies from the NX experts, which I may or may not get. In the meanwhile, it may help if you describe in detail the issue that you run into. Are you aware also that you can contact NX experts through https://community.plm.automation.siemens.com ?
Praneeth, apparently due to some nuances in what has been released, such as what toolkit, I have been told that something called a syslog is needed on this side. Your IT person should be able to help you with that. Once we have that, I believe you will get well tailored guidance. My email address is firstname dot lastname at companyname dot com.
