please guide me through this calculation
in the attached file, there are two tables as following:
table one: Surface energies
table two: work of adhesion
In addition to this, there is an equation that I use it to calculate work of adhesion, but I can not find out why my results are not the same as table two.

As near as I can suggest, the calculations may be affected by round-off errors. For example, with the resin + untreated case, I get a value of 74 not 72.
I recommend this is a question for you to post directly to the authors of the publication. I would also ask them for the uncertainty ranges on all of the values shown in the table (unless perhaps it is already in the publication).
Otherwise, you might post the citation link (NOT THE PUBLICATION, just the link to where we can find it). It would be easier to help figure out the problem with the full context of the publication rather than just a synopsis.
the work of adhesion can be calculated by (surface tension A - surface tension B)*contact area, if surface tension A > B
How far out are your calculations from those in the table? Like Jeffrey above I got 74 for the resin and untreated case. For the Resin and treated I get 105, which again is slightly off from the table value of 104. I don't think these differences are just rounding errors - in both cases my calculation matched precisely the table vales for Wd, and the divergence occurred in the value for Wp only. I have a couple of questions:
i) How different are your values from the tables - i.e. are they a little off like the values Jeffrey and myself have worked out or are you getting radically different values?
ii) Is the equation from the same publication as the tables? I ask because the scripting of the terms is not quite the same in each case.
As Jeffrey notes above, it would be easier to help you if were to give us a link to the paper in question, you aren't giving us much to work on.

If you are getting the same values then it may just be rounding errors as Jeffrey suggested - they diverge by about 3% at most. As far as I can tell you provide the equation by Wu, who is referenced by the authors.
