I am trying to calculate the voltage drop between two points of a cylindrical specimen in Ansys Maxwell. The Excitation is an AC Excitation and the skin effect has to be respected. Due to the fact that there are inhomogenous fields inside the specimen in my opinion it is not possible to calculate the voltage drop along a conductive path. Do I have to use a different solution type (such as electric transient) to solve this problem or is there a possibility to do this in the Eddy Current solution type?

I think it is not possible to find the voltage drop using eddy current solver.
Electric Transient also does not consider skin and proximity effect so cannot be used in the case of AC excitation.
One solution is to find the equivalent impedance between two points. Unfortunately, MAXWELL only does loop calculations and you cannot use it for finding equivalent impedance between two points.
However, Q3D is capable of doing that. Just define one point as sink and another point as source and it gives you the equivalent impedance in the frequency of interest. Then you have to use the impedance and current to find the voltage drop.
