How can I calculate the N2 flow rate knowing pressure in pipe and diameter of Pipe? There is 5KL tank of N2 having 4 kg/cm2 pressure. This tank has 1" pipe through which N2 is supplied to plant. It has 4 90degree elbows, 2 45degree elbows and total length of pipe is 100m.N2 Pressure available at reactor place is 2kg/cm2. We use N2 for 25 minutes. Knowing all this how can I calculate flowrate of N2 in this 1" line and consumption of N2?
I suppose you don't have a software for this. So you have to write a program. You need to have a formula giving pressure drop in pipe taking account of diameter (not 1" but the exact diameter), mean flow velocity pipe rugosity and taking account of the fact that you have a compressible fluid. You have to add singularity of elbows. After that you write your program following the flow. And you try to obtain a convergence on a solution giving your total pressure drop: 2 kg/cm2 starting from an initial condition. Of course doing this you don't take account of thermal effect but for me i suppose your flow is isothermal.
You can use Panhandle A or Panhandle B equations or Weymouth equation. These equations contain base pressure and temperature of the gas, gas specific gravity average gas compressibility, pipe inside diameter. You can obtain the equations from Cambell, 1992 (Elements of Field Processing), or McAllister, 1993 (Pipeline Handbook), Boyan and Ghalamor, 2005 (Natural Gas Engineering Handbook) or Ujile, 2014 (Chemical Engineering Unit Operations, synthesis and Basic Design Calculations -Applied/Pipeline Hydraulics)

Remember to divide the universal constant for ideal gas R=8315 J/kmol K by molecular weight of N2 = 14,0067 kmol/kg
