I have synthesized Carbon dots using Microwave method. The sucrose was dissolved in 10 mL of buffer and then charred in the microwave for 5 mins. After that, the charred area was dissolved in 10 mL of distilled water. Now I have the stock solution of Carbon dots and need to calculate the concentration of Carbon dots within it.
You may be able to determine your carbon dots by check the atomic density of your samples by EDS. Also, you can check the weight of your carbon dots in powder. The best way to separation of carbon dots is by centrifugation process. Spectroscopic techniques(Uv-vis spectrometry or fluorescence spectrometry ) are popular characterization ways to determine nanoparticles formation and there're properties . To determine carbon dots content by spectroscopic techniques you need to prepare a standards curve which must to involves a wide concentration range of carbon dots dispersions with particles of same shape and size, but it is difficult approach due to variation of size and shape of particles.
