How to calculate gold shell thickness of Cu-Au core-shell nanoparticles form the amount of gold precursor added?

I want to know mathematical calculation to find out gold shell thickness.

I think that measuring diameters from TEM images and then calculating gold shell thickness by scale are more feasible than calculating from gold precusors' concentration.
