hello every one,
in leterature there is some expression to calculate distance between antenna (excitation source ) and periodic structure (metamaterial or metasurface ...) like F=lambda0/2, or F=D/2tang(alpha)
with D the diametre of the periodic structure and alpha angular width of the antenna.
but i have not a good result by this two expressions !!!!

lambda0/2 seems like the spacing between antennas in an array, or FSS (metamaterial) elements.
D/2tang(alpha) seems like the distance from a surface so that the antenna illuminates the whole surface, except alpha seems to be half the beam angle.
