When using the Specific Heat Capacity ,the following equation provides the temperature change: (T2-T1) = IIRt /(mc) I-Current V-Voltage R-Electrical Resistance t-Time m-Mass of the material c- Specific heat of that material (T2-T1) - Change in Temperature
I need assistance in finding example of on shelf resistor with m and c.
Accordingly ,to calculate the temperature change, and the required time duration the resistor will be driven this current in order to achieve this delta in temperature.
Please consider following :
1. In real resistors , we need heat transfer coefficient. It will depend on type
of cooling viz natural / forced and type of mounting horizontal / vertical especially
in case of natural cooling. This is usually modelled as a resistor in thermal equt circuit.
2. Mxspht is like capacitance in thermal equt circuit
3. P=I ^2 Relectrical = current in thermal circuit
4. So effective thermal impedance = zitherm = rtherm and ctherm in parallel
5 Now you can obtain vthermal = temp rise from thermal eqvt circuit.
