I weighed 100 mg of sample and digested it in 6 ml of 6 M HCl.
The UPLC quantified the amino acids results in nmol/ml.
For example, Alanine concentration was 215 nmole/ml, how do I calculate the amount of alanine in g/100g of sample? Can anyone explain me step wise calculation? Thank you
100 mg /6 mL = 0,016666 g / 1 mL
MW Alanine = 89,09 g / mol
215 nM = 0,000000215 M = (g / 89,09) / 1 L
g = 0,000019 g / L = 0,000000019 g / mL
(0,000000019 g / 0,0166666) X 100 g = 0,0001149 g
You have 0,0001146 g / 100 g sample
Ratn Deep Singh Dear Sir thanks for your help. Finally i did the calculation as per your advice. However, I wish to express my AA concentration as (g/100 g of protein) can you give me the step wise calculation ? My protein concentration is 0.57 g/100 g of sample.
