I am running a repeated measured ANOVA. I'm interested in the interaction effect. The result is significant. However, the partial eta squared is below 0.08. I have cleaned my data. My data violates the normality assumption.

Why is the eta squared so small? And, how can I boost this effect size? Is there a different model that I need to use?

I have each subject going under 2 different treatments. In each treatment, the dependant variable (a positive continues variable) is measured 2 times.

T1 T2

Sub1 t1 t2 t1 t2

Sub2 t1 t2 t1 t2

Sub3 t1 t2 t1 t2

.... ... ....

I have about 150 subjects.
