Graphene based devices have to be washed with acetone, DMF, and water. How can we avoid/reduce oxidation and water absorption? How can we maintain the intrinsic properties of graphene throughout the fabrication process which involves Graphene transfer through chemical processes and heating.

In order to avoid water absorption during the processing of graphine you have to run your processing either under vacuum or under inert gas. It is so normally semicondcutor processing run under controlled environments to avoid their contamination.

Dear Prof. Abdelhalim Zekry, water cleaning is an essential step in Graphene transfer, and we cannot avoid this step for better cleaning, but there can be methods to get rid of water absorbed in Graphene or between graphene and the substrate it is transferred to. Or there can be other ways to clean/wash graphene using something other then water. That's what I have asked.
Graphene can be heated in an inert atmosphere and thus get rid of the adsorbed water. You can put on a substrate with a metal magnesium. It reacts with water. Put into the space anhydrous CaCl2, CuSO4, if the experiment allows. They absorb water with formation of crystalline hydrates.
