Dear colleagues,

I am working on a sensitive topic regarding drug abuse, and population in my study are very difficult to reach and refuse to participate in an assessment for drug abuse pattern. Sample recruitment was less difficult in rehabilitation centers and participants are willing to discuss this drug problem, so a convenient sample was my selection.

My concerns are :

How Statistically correct the analysis for such a convenient sample, which is mainly for frequencies to assess the pattern of drugs abuse among participants?

And does a peer reviewed journal refuse to publish similar papers considering it with selection bias? Even if the author justified the sensitivity of the topic and risk of low response rate among larger population?

Your opinions will help a lot!

Sincerely,
