Apart from the impact factor and citations to a paper is there any way to know the impact the published paper made on the society. Like the research impact metrics, are there any societal impact metrics that can be derived for each paper.
Is there any specific branch that deals with this type of studies.
But Abdelrahman sir, how does that vindicate the 'Societal Impact' of a paper?
In the sense, If I publish a paper where I say the purpose of my paper is "To provide information for risk management in agriculture sector in this rapid climate change scenario". Altemetrics merely say how many people read my paper and cited my paper in their 'research' . I don't understand how it stands as an affirmation that my paper has actually made an impact to the 'Society'.
