I am working on a 3d pipe flow problem with special surface geometry and I want to simulate the pipe flow by using just one small section and then applying the solved fluid info from the output surface to the input surface ( This is what I assumed is periodic boundary conditions), is there a way to do this in fluent ? Also is it possible to save every solved section data separately so I can have data for each of the section saved when the conditions are applied?

Identify first the ID of the two boundaries you want to define as periodic. The ID is found in “Boundary condition” section or from the following series of command line: “grid\modify-zones\list-zones”. Then use the following commands to make them periodic: “grid\modify-zones\make-periodic”. Then input the ID of first zone when asked “Periodic zone [()]”.Then input the ID of second zone when asked “Shadow zone [()]”.Answer the following as it works for you: Rotational periodic? (if translational) [No] No. Create periodic zones? [yes] yes. Auto detect translation vector? [yes].

Mounir Bouaifi Sir, thank you for the help, I tried this way and fluent asked me how many iterations i want to perform for this ( which i assumed is how many sections you want to simulate back to back) but in this manner does fluent save each section simulated as a file or the data for each section cant be found, is there a way to save each sections data separately ?
